Choquequirao Trek 4 days
This is a spectacular trek through the Peruvian Andes. You will visit the Archaeological Complex of Choquequirao located in Vilcabamba (3100 m.a.s.l.). This site is considered the last refuge of the Incas from where they offered resistance against the conquerors. Also you will enjoy beautiful landscapes; we'll observe the impressive Apurimac Canyon and see native plants and animal on the rout. This rout is a little difficult but is interesting.
Itinerary
DAY 1: CUSCO – CACHORA – CHIQUISKA
DAY 1: CUSCO – CACHORA – CHIQUISKAIn the morning at 5:00 a.m. We will pick you up at your hotel and we’ll travel by bus to Cachora Town the starting point of the trek. Here we will meet our cook, the horseman and load the equipment onto the mules. Today we’ll walk enjoying beautiful scenery and views of the mountains. We’ll see the snow capped Padrayoc Mountain (5400 m.a.s.l.), the Wayna Cachora mountain and we will see the Apurimac Canyon. After the lunch we will go down to Chiquisca the camp site.
DAY 2: CHIQUISKA – CHOQUEQUIRAO
DAY 2: CHIQUISKA – CHOQUEQUIRAOAfter breakfast we’ll continue the trek and we will pass by Rosalina Beach. After we’ll walk up to Santa Rosa Village and have a short rest. We will arrive to Marampata where we’ll have lunch. On the route we’ll see different native plants, animals and beautiful waterfalls considered one of the deepest in the world. After we’ll continue to the beautiful Complex of Choquequirao.
DAY 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO – CHIQUISKA
DAY 3: CHOQUEQUIRAO – CHIQUISKAEarly in the morning we will visit the beautiful complex one more time, we’ll see the beautiful sunrise and our guide will explain details and why this place was important in the Inkas time. If we are lucky we’ll see the majestic flight of the Condor. After we will return to the camp site and pack our luggage. We will return to Chiquiska and install the base camp.
DAY 4: CHIQUISKA – CACHORA – CUSCO
Today after breakfast we will leave the base camp and we will walk up to Cachora Town. We’ll have the lunch. At Cachora we will take the bus to Cusco.
